Brosis Project

I was given a chance to participate in BroSis Project as a project assistant. During the process of preparation, through the actual projects and after the completion of the project I am living life with people who are contributing in making my life into something more special. As I was watching youth participants from various countries around the world enthusiastically participating in the event despite the difficulty of the subject matter, sustainable development, I felt that all the efforts I have put into this project is being paid off. Through BroSis, I was able to meet the “fascinating beginning.” While writing this composition, I am still wondering about what you are doing now. Despite the distances between us, it is certainly a very happy thing to have someone who can I think of from time to time and wonder about how he/she is doing. In March, I took part in Bangkok Sister City Youth Program as a participant. I enjoyed the experience as a participant, but I still wanted to figure out what it feels like to be a staff member. This unstoppable curiosity led me to apply for a place in youth planning team of BroSis Project. Working as a staff member for two and a half months, I was burdened with endless work. First of all, the BroSis Project was educational. While I was preparing this project, I learned a lot about Seoul which I hadn’t known much about. I realized that running a city is not that easy. A city has to care about many things such as environment, traffic, welfare, employment and so on. Working with other BroSis planning team members, I also learned how to cooperate with people. 2009 BroSis Project, It was really a memorable event for me. Even at this moment, I can’t believe that it’s all completely finished. I feel like there will be still the participants at MIZY Center. Although there were hard times, BroSis Project provided me a valuable opportunity to interact with foreign students from all over the world. The fact that I can interact with them was the important driving force in enjoying this project. I was actually wondering to myself how many out of the participants would have thought about the sustainable development. Therefore, I was little bit skeptical even when designing the project because I was unsure if my team mates would be able to follow the objectives of the project. Being the only Vietnamese participant in 2009 BroSis Project Seoul is such a big pressure for me. Indeed, I felt a little bit lonely sometimes but the warmth of other participants, my brothers and sisters:) encourages and cheers me up a lot! I’ve learned and experienced many new things, making many new friends in different countries around the world. Moreover, I understand more about South Korea and Seoul, a city which I always wish to visit once. This is the most memorable summer in my youth. Thank you all my friends and staff for everything. Fortune smiled upon me and I became one of the 50 participants of BroSis 2009! It's a unique project, which united people from almost all over the world. No one could imagine how close we'll be after those 10 days, how it'll be hard to say goodbye to each other in the end.
